At Twinkle Fetal Medicine Centre, we understand that a successful pregnancy means ensuring both the well-being of the mother and the health of the baby. While these outcomes are often closely connected, they don’t always go hand in hand.
In more than 85% of pregnancies, both mother and baby do well—these are classified as low-risk pregnancies. However, in approximately 15% of cases, certain complications may arise that could affect the health of the mother, the baby, or both.
Around half of these high-risk pregnancies can be identified early on, while others may only become apparent later. A small number may not be detected until complications develop.
